Breathless

It has been years since i went to the Rotterdam Film Festival, mostly because they try to show the most outlandish films ever made! Dark and grey movies from Latvia and Lithuania or some other baltic state!!
But once every two years they pick a wonderful Asian movie, and this time it was Breathless . What can i say about this movie..? Not much yet, still letting it sink in :)
Film director, scriptwriter and producer Yang Ik-june won the VPRO Tiger Awards Competition for new directors at the 38th International Film Festival Rotterdam on Sunday with his feature debut "Breathless." Yang is the third Korean film director to win the Tiger Awards following Hong Sang-soo and Park Chan-ok, who won the award with "The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well" and "Jealousy Is My Middle Name." "Breathless" will be released in Korea in April.

Jet-lag

A week ago i returned home from Hong Kong ( home is the Netherlands)..still the jet-lag lingers!
The 12 hour flight really got the better of me, crying babies on planes do not make it easy to sleep. Well at least i got a chance to see some movies that have not been released in the Netherlands! I started work 2 days later...well let's say i am at the office fysically, mentaly i am not! At least this weekend i had no plans, no appointments....so i am sorting the dvd's and cd's i bought and deciding which one to watch/listen to first....difficult..hmmm...
I think i have my Chen Chang collection almost complete...didn't find Betelnut Beauty..ah well...planning a Taipei trip in a few months...must look for it then. Oh..and i missed Parking! Wanted to see it so bad, but it was out of the theatres the last week. But i did see Red Cliff 2...very happy with that! John Woo is a genius...always impressed my Tony Leung( Chiu-wai) and Takeshi Kaneshiro..and Chen Chang ..what can i say, wonderful actor!

I feel really strange this time omming home from HK...like i am not really in my own house.
My stuff is here, my sweet pets too, but i feel a bit uprooted. Last time i came back from HK my sweet cat had died while i was away and i just cried for days... I burned some insence for her at Po Lin monastary while i was there...when i walked out of the complex and rested for a bit a dog sat next to me, looking at me as if she knew me....Strange encounter, but good as well.
I am having withdrawl sympthoms from my HK daily vitamine C shot..HUI LAU SHAN.. i miss my Melon Juice...
Filled out a suggestion form while i was at one of their shops opting for a quick opening of branches in Holland!!! Lets's see if my plea worked..ha ha ha...
Still have to download my photo's ...will share some as soon as i have time.
